Steffen Loch has been licensed as a CPA in Oregon since 2004 and has more than 18 years of professional experience consulting on US tax law for individuals and cross-border tax law.

Due to his many years of experience in tax consulting (KPMG) and in business (Dade Behring and Siemens), Steffen Loch has gained profound professional experience as the basis for his independent advisory work.

In 2008 Steffen Loch started his US tax consulting office in Dachau as a part-time job and continued to do it full-time from 2014 due to the high demand for his consulting services.

With his move to Cyprus and the foundation of Steffen Loch US Tax Services LTD. in 2018 he fulfilled his dream of living and working in the Mediterranean and in an international society (and thereby also escaping the pollen allergy he was suffering from in Germany).

With our Service Point in Dachau we continue to be close to our clients in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

I am often asked how I became a US tax advisor as a German.

Already during my studies I realized that the world of tax and tax planning has nothing to do with my idea of taxes as dry matter at that time.

On the contrary, I was always fascinated by Professor Bareis’ lectures, because they were about design and politics, about justice and injustice of tax systems and above all about true stories as life writes them every day. This has proved to be completely true in my professional practice.

When I started my professional career at KPMG in 2001 in international assignment consulting, I specialized in international assignments of employees from the USA to Germany and vice versa. I was responsible for the entire process of both German and US tax advice and the coordinated preparation of tax returns for both countries.

From the very beginning I was fascinated by the challenge this posed to our clients, who are affected by both tax systems simultaneously. Interesting here are the numerous options and elections in US tax law to optimize the tax situation – especially in an international context.

This challenge inspires me anew in my daily work and motivates me to achieve the best possible tax result for my clients in their respective personal situation.

Susanne Lindner (Bachelor of Business Administration and Enrolled Agent) supports the tax consulting of our firm since October 2015 as an employee and since 2018 as an independent cooperation partner.

Ms. Lindner previously worked as a tax professional / consultant at the tax firm WTS in the international and US tax area from 2011 to May 2015.

Since 2015, Ms. Lindner has been licensed as an Enrolled Agent with the US tax authorities.

As Managing Director of Loch US Tax Service Point GmbH, Ms. Lindner and her team are responsible for the entire process from sending out questionnaires and gathering information to preparing and sending out US tax returns.
